Antique English later George IV / William IV circa 1830 Rosewood Side Board / Chiffionier.

This is an exceptionally high quality genuine antique English earlier 1800s circa 1830s later George IV / William IV Rosewood Side Board / Chiffonier. The rectangular timber show framed mirror back board has its original mirrored plate with a beaded molded border. Above is a full width shelf with a three sided timber gallery and the shelf is supported by end carved embellished French influence ‘C’ shaped scrolls.

The cabinet section has a greenish grey coloured Marble top inset by a bold concave shaped perimeter molding. There are two side by side flush fitting shallow frieze drawers separated by a well carved decorative panel and with further carved floral medallions on each outer side. Below the frieze section is a slightly recessed two door cupboard which have glazed panelled doors for viewing into the display cupboard with its two adjustable full width shelves. The doors have well carved spandrels in the upper corners ( which create Roman arched glazed panels ) and full height engaged pillasters to the outer sides each with lobed petalated carved feet / bases and ‘Corinthian’ capitols at the top beneath the frieze section. All supported on a plinth base.

The exotic highly desirable and prestigious nicely figured and ‘honey’ coloured Rosewood timber was imported from the Central Americas and Brazil.
