Pair of antique Japanese later Meiji Period 1868 - 1912 blue and white Vases.

A$1,750.00

Many people expect genuine antique Japanese Meiji period Imari Vases to also include red colour in the decoration and even some gold detail and many do. However detailing can vary within a province or state and in some parts of the Arita area blue and white was the way it was done. These vases have applied painted art work of birds, flowers and butterflies in red/brown, brown and gold. The circular vases are of well shaped and proportioned shape with tapering necks and flared and finely finely crimped tops plus also have some internal blue and white art work.

Condition: Structurally excellent with no cracks or repairs. Some of the painted applied art work has worn over the decades however we have an extremely talented ( museum quality ) porcelain restorer who can replace the worn applied decoration if required.

Size: Width 14cm x Height 31cm.

Price: $1,750 negotiable.
