Antique japanese Meiji period Imari ceramic Bowl.

A$2,875.00

This is a very good quality example of a genuine antique Japanese Meiji period 1868 to 1912 ribbed bowl known as Imari ware from the Arita area. Much Imari is decorated in red and blue and occasionally with gold all on a white ground. it can also just be just Cobalt blue on a white ground.

The Bowl is ribbed and is embellished internally with an abstract upper banding and the bowl centre decorated with floral and foliate scenes. The outer rim is also embellished with the stylised designs so as to compliment the inner bowl.
