This is an excellent quality and lovely example of a 19th century French Sewing Box which can be easily converted into a Jewellery Box.

The box is of simple rectangular form with a slightly domed hinged lid and is finished in exotic and rare Amboyna from Ambon in Indonesia. it also has a perimeter crossbanding to the lid and a shaped inset Brass Cartouche in the centre of the lid. there is a brass keyhole escutcheon at the front panel.

If required we can organise for the box to have polished inner timber panels or be silk lined plus a key made at a cost to us basis.
