This is an interesting genuine antique Italian 18th century Console or Side Table of rectangular form. It would be equally at home in an entrance vestibule or a hall way.

The hand painted imitation marble top has a curved perimeter edge molding. beneath is a recessed shallow rectangular frieze section with applied raised decorative scrolls. Below is a feature suspended well saw pierced carved panel.

The four corner positioned legs are flat however shaped and once again have applied cast decorative moldings. The front and rear legs at either end have small decorative stretchers and from the centre position of these stretchers is a boldly carved arching full width stretcher.

The whole table / console base is gilded. and the top is painted so as to simulate marble.

Condition: Due to its considerable age although basically complete it now requires some conservation to the hand painted simulated marble top and parts of the base require some re gilding……Which we can organise for the purchaser at a cost to us trade price basis.
