On offer is a very good example of a hard to find genuine antique English Georgian ( George IV 1820 - 1830 ) circular Centre Table in the form of a Drum Table or Rent Table made by craftsmen from imported prestigious Central American Mahogany.

The top has an inset gold tooled green leather writing surface with an outer cross banding and a decorative curved perimeter molding. The apron has a combination of four flush fitting working drawers alternating with four faux drawers and is complete with original brass locks, brass keyhole escutcheons and pairs of turned flat mushroom shaped drawer pull knobs. At the base of the apron is a quality beaded decorative applied molding.

The top is designed to rotate on the column.

The central support is upward tapered, faceted with 3 large concave facets and three alternating smaller flat facets plus has a lower correspondingly shaped collar at the base of the column. The plinth tri form base is flat and with curved side panels to match the column curved panels. The base stands on three well carved ‘classic’ Regency influenced Lion Paw feet with rear scrolls. Beneath are the original all brass castor assemblies.

Condition: Overall very good condition commensurate with age and use. There is a fine shrinkage crack to part of the top which may be easily restored.
