This is a good and impressive hard to find antique French Hunt Table / Wake Table / Dining Table to seat eight (8) people probably made in the later 1800s or the earlier 1900s.
The table is of oval form and the top section and each of the two drop leaves each comprise of a very well figured single wide board of French Oak.
The table is supported by four corner positioned turned legs in the form of a column with upper and lower ring turnings which are connected by a full stretcher around the base. On each side are two gate legs ( connected to the apron at the top and the stretcher an the bottom ) which when swung into position support the curved drop leaves and the gate legs have complimentary turned uprights co as to compliment the main support legs.
The table is light in colour and slightly mottled in parts as per the images.
Condition: Structurally very sound with an aged and faded surface.
Size: Width closed 59cm x Width open 154cm x Length 238cm x Height 73cm. We can provide the table as is, have the table washed off and just a wax finish applied or for those who prefer a more refined finish a thin coat of polish before waxing. The choice is yours and anything finish can be professionally provided at a trade price.
