This is a high quality genuine antique French earlier 1800s Louis Philippe 1st oval Centre Table professionally restored to the highest standards.

Louis Philippe was King of the French from 1830 to 1848. He was also known as the Citizen King as he wanted to introduce a constitutional Monarchy based on the British model however was overthrown in the 1848 revolution.

The oval top has a feature beaded perimeter molding and the very well figured Mahogany is book leaf matched. The apron has a drawer to either side and each drawer has its original circular brass keyhole escutcheon and brass lock.

The centre support column is very well turned and features full height spirals plus has a lower carved ring turning and at the bottom above the base is a beaded carved ring collar.

From the small carved embellished cylindrical base flow four beautifully Acanthus carved embellished cabriole ‘S’ scrolled legs which terminate in upward scrolled toes with the original all brass castor assemblies beneath.

Condition: Excellent and in fully professionally restored condition.
