This is a very superior quality example of a genuine antique French earlier 1800s circular top centre pedestal tripod base Centre Table - Library Table - Dining Table.
The circular top is finished in selected very well figured imported prestigious Central American Mahogany and has an outer Mahogany cross banding plus a stepped and rounded edge molding. The shallow apron has a pair of opposite positioned flush fitting drawers.
The central support column is well turned and highly profiled and features a large foliate carved bulbous turning with a lower urn with a ‘string of Pearls’ beaded molding. and terminates at the base in a broard ring collar
The tri form plinth base is supported on three well carved stylised animal paw feet with upper leaf carvings. Above on the base are three reeded and carved “S’ shaped scrolls. Beneath the feet are the all brass original castor assemblies.
Condition: The top is very good commensurate with age and use. The column and base are in excellent condition.We can organise to have the top professionally refurbished at a trade price if required.
