Antique English early Victorian Rosewood Side Table....SOLD.
This is a very high quality genuine antique English early Victorian period 1845 - 1850 Side Table
Superbly crafted from selected prestigious imported Brazilian Rosewood.
The top is understated so not to distract from whatever may be displayed upon it however it shows its quality in a refined way with its symmetrical serpentine form with a lamb tongue edge molding. The shallow apron follows the shape of the top and has a lower cock bead molding. The table top is supported by end positioned cylindrical columns which terminate at the base with carved stylised leaf circular flanges with inverted finials beneath.
The legs are full height and brace the central support columns then at the bottom change into typical shaped French cabriole legs with raised carvings on the knees of flowers and leaves. There are also French ‘C’ shaped scrolls at the rear of the legs and upward scrolled toes which have the original all brass castor assemblies beneath. The vertical columns are connected by a turned stretcher which is embellished by central opposed stylised Tulip turnings.
