Antique Anglo Indian Regency period Rosewood Card Table.
On offer is one for the collectors. This is a rare and genuine antique Anglo Indian Regency Period 1811 - 1820 Card / Games Table superbly crafted from Indian Rosewood which is very dense and heavy.
The top is rectangular in form and has a hand carved beaded edge molding. When the top is swivels and folds over it rests on the frieze section which has an internal storage compartment for cards etc. The front of the frieze has a recessed panel with complimentary carved molding and at either end are reversed decorative carved French influenced āSā shaped scrolls. Behind the scrolls are nicely turned stretchers running through to the back board which are not only decorative however are practical carry handles.
The top section is supported by two boldly turned support columns which sit on a flat quadruped base wit vertical concave curved sides. Beneath are classic bold and well carves Lion paw feet with upper foliate carvings and rear scrolls. the feet conceal the original all brass castor assemblies.
Condition: Overall very good commensurate with age and use.

Price: Should be $3,500 or more however as some parts would benefit from a general refurbishment now only $2,495. for a quick sale.
Sellers Observation: Over all it may be a little less refined than its English counterpart however is much rarer as you rarely find Anglo Indian Card Tables.
