Antique English mid Victorian period 1850s Walunt with marquetry inlay Etagere / Whatnot Stand.

This is another excellent example of a quality genuine mid 19th century upright rectangular three tier Display Stand ( also referred to as a What Not Stand ) which also has a full width drawer beneath the middle shelf.

The shelves are separated by elegant well turned corner columns and terminate as the top with urn shaped finials and at the bottom with short decoratively turned and tapered legs with their original all brass bucket castor assemblies beneath.

The top shelf has a shaped three sided timber gallery which is dressed in Satinwood and then inlaid with Rosewood creating patterns of birds flowers and leaves etc. The middle tier shelf drawer front is also finished in Satinwood with Rosewood decorative inlays so as to compliment the top shelf gallery.

Condition: Excellent original.
