Antique 19th century French gilt oval Wall Mirror.

This is a good genuine medium sized antique 19th century French oval gilt and decoratively embellished mirror frame with its original beveled mirror plate. within.

The oval vertical frame has both a raised ‘rope’ twist molding plus an inner continuous ‘string of pearls’ molding. At the top are a pair of doves ( a symbol for lasting love as Doves mate for life ) a pair of quivers with arrows within ( a symbol of protection and defense ) and a pair of opposed downward facing Cornucopia also referred to as ‘horns of plenty’ ( a symbol of abundance and nourishment ) with an out flowing and trailing flowers and leaves from the Cornucopia. At the base is a simpler and less complex symmetrical semi stylised composition of a small bunch of grapes, flowers opposed scrolls and leaves.

Condition: Very good with possible minor old restoration to part of the base decorative embellishment.
