Antique English Georgian Mahogany long case Clock
Antique English Georgian Mahogany long case Clock
This is a most attractive and good quality genuine antique English Georgian period early 1800s Mahogany cased long case Clock which make a fabulous feature in a home.
This is an 8 day clock so only has to be wound once a week. I advise my clients not to buy 30 hour clocks as you have to constantly be winding them
The arched hood is attractive as they are not bulky like some squarer hoods. The arched cornice is supported on either side by fine reeded classic columns with brass capitols and bases.
The brass dial is most is engraved appealing with its top calibrated section for the rise and fall of the tide with engraved inward and outbound sailing ships. This top arched section is shared with the painted moon dial. There is a subsiduary seconds dial and a minutes dial. The slender middle section has an arched door so as to compliment the top hood glazed door. The corners are champhered and fine full height reeding. The base is a typical box base.
This clock is complete with its original two lead weights and original pendulum plus the original case key.
