This is a lovely and comfortable antique English 19th century 1870s Mahogany Easy Chair Lounge Chair or Library Chair. The french would refer to it as a Bergere due to its enclosed upholstered arms.

The chair has a quality Mahogany ‘show timber’ frame and legs and very unusual ‘grotesque’ beautifully carved lion head hand grips. This makes the chair perfect for someone whose star sign is a Leo. The back frame is also unusual as it has a pointed arched back and it and the front seat rail have decorative timber stud embellishments.

Condition: Excellent - commensurate with age and use.
