This is an exceptionally refined and high quality genuine antique English Victorian period 1870s Mahogany two height Bookcase in superb restored condition.

The top ‘Display Cabinet’ section has a very nicely profiled cornice and a pair of full height rectangular glazed panels which reveal the very clean interior with four adjustable height full width shelves.

The bottom ‘Storage Cabinet’ has a pair of recessed panelled side by side frieze drawers with a pair of turned timber drawer pull handles. Below are a pair of full height timber panelled doors with recessed rectangular panels so as to compliment the top doors. Within is a full width shelf. All supported on a shaped plinth base to balance out the top cornice.

Each section of the Book Case is nicely rounded on the front corners i.e. the cornice, pediment, top doors, frieze, lower doors and base.

For its height and width the depth of the lower cabinet is surprisingly not very deep so it doesn’t overly protrude into a room.
