This is a very good genuine antique English 19th century Victorian two height Book Case featuring high quality prestigious imported Central American Mahogany of excellent colour.

the cabinet has superior features including an elegant proportion with a tall top section and a low waisted lower section.

The top and tall Display Cabinet has an ogee shaped cornice above a vertical pediment. The cabinet has a pair of full height doors still with the original ‘slump’ glass and reveal an interior with three full width adjustable shelves each supported on recessed metal brackets.

The lower Storage Cabinet has a pair of complimentary rectangular doors with ‘blind’ recessed panels and has a full width shelf within.

To emphasize the superior quality of this fine piece is the fact that it has on both cabinets on the outer side of the doors full height panels with raised moldings and at the top of these panels boldly carved decorative applied corbels.

Condition: Very good commensurate with age and use. The Book Case was refurbished in the later 1900s so now has some fine marks as a result of use over the past over quarter of a century.
