This is a most attractive decorative and practical compact size genuine antique French eariier 1900s Ladies Writing Desk in a revival transitional style.

The desk is curved at the rear and has serpentine curved sides and features extensive two tone decorative checkerboard marquetry panels.

The curved superstructure features a red inset marble top with a pierced three quarter brass gallery.

Below are two flush mounted stacked drawers with open shelving on either side. The blue leather writing surface pulls out to provide a larger writing / work surface if required and beneath is a flush fitting serpentine fronted full width drawer. All drawers have decorative Rococo cast brass drawer pull handles.

The main body of the desk flows onto the four tall elegantly shaped and tapered legs which have cast brass decorative applied mounts at the top and cast brass toe sabots at the bottom.

Condition: Over all very good with some light age related ware.
