This is a very fine example of a high quality genuine antique English William IV period 1830 to 1837 Writing Table with an inset gold tooled tan leather writing surface.

The Desk / Writing Table is finished on all four sides so it may be used within the room and away from a wall. It also makes an excellent Side Table or Serving Table.

The whole is beautifully made by top experienced craftsmen from imported prestigious well figured selected Central American Mahogany.

The frieze section has two front side by side flush fitting concealed drawers. Both the top and bottom of the frieze have full perimeter beaded edge moldings which was both time consuming and expensive to do.

The top section is supported on end turned vertical columns that are nicely turned and very well profiled and feature sections of bold feature reeding. THe columns terminate on the rectangular plinth bases with feature reeded ring collars. Beneath the bases are flattened bun feet with concealed original all brass castor assemblies within.

Condition: Excellent commensurate with age and use.
