This is an unusual find as it is a rare compact sized genuine antique English Georgian ( George III period ) later 1700s Drop Front Bureau / Writing Desk ideal for a smaller room or a limited space.

The writing bureau is well made by craftsmen from both solid prestigious imported Central American Cuban and Honduran Mahogany of good colour and figuring.

The bureau section when opened reveals a nicely fitted interior comprising of a central cupboard with a recessed paneled door and on either side are three upper pigeon holes with a row of four drawers beneath. Below the bureau / desk are a pair of side by side drawers with three lower three stacked full width drawers. All drawers are correctly Oak lined from front to back for the period and have perimeter cock bead molding plus original steel locks, brass keyhole escutcheons and pairs of oval brass drawer pull handles. The whole is supported on corner straight bracket feet.

Condition: Very good desirably near original condition with only minor age related imperfections.. Photographed as is. Complete with a key.`F
