This is an excellent quality genuine antique English Bow fronted Mahogany Chest of Drawers made in the later George IV period or early William IV period circa 1830
The chest is of medium size and has several excellent features:
The case is constructed with solid prestigious imported Honduran Mahogany and not veneered. The front is bow fronted or curved which is harder to make and there for rarer than a straight fronted chest.
The chest has decorative full height engaged corner columns featuring multiple ring turnings.
There are two side by side top drawers drawers and three lower full width graduated drawers all with hard wearing solid Oak drawer linings and cock bead edge moldings plus mushroom shaped turned timber drawer pull knobs.
The chest has all its brass keyhole escutcheons and all the drawers have their brass locks both of which may be highlighted by polishing.
There is a subtle feature horizontal cross banding beneath the top and above the top drawers. of Brazilian Rosewood
Condition: over all excellent commensurate with age and use. The top has some small minor shallow scratches…which a restorer could easily fix on site if required.
