On offer is a good quality well proportioned and solidly constructed genuine antique English Victorian period later 19th century military Campaign Chest / Chest of Drawers typically constructed in two sections so as to make transporting during military campaigns easier..

The chest is robustly constructed from solid beautifully figured and lovely honey coloured solid Camphor Wood.

The top section has a pair of side by side drawers with a full width drawer beneath and the lower section has a pair of stacked full width drawers.

All drawers are flush fitting and are complete with brass locks, keyhole escutcheons, plus flush fitting brass recessed drawer pull handles.

On either side of both sections are brass carry handles. Both sections have brass corner brackets and other brass angled brackets which provide reinforcing during potential rough handling during military campaigns. The two sections when assembled are held in position by four dowels and the lower section stands on four short well turned legs / feet.

Condition: Excellent commensurate with age and use. There are a few old minor imperfections to the top and the chest has had a general refurbishment at some stage so presents reasonably well. The circular brass keyholes are deficient however we are looking for appropriate replacements.
