This is a charming and very ‘sweet’ genuine French earlier 20th century Louis XV style ( almost antique ) marble top Commode of good proportions and compact size

The commode is basically constructed from solid French Oak and is typically finished in selected feature veneers to create the decorative panels. It is of ‘Bombe ‘ shape and has two full width shaped and stacked drawers. The commode is supported on four corner positioned elegantly shaped and tapered cabriole legs. The Commode is embellished with a serpentine shaped thick marble top with a double edge molding and is further embellished with quality Brass applied mounts, drawer pull handles, key hole escutchions and sabots on the feet.

This fine piece is original but has been refurbished by Robert Collins who was one of Sydneys most tallented antique furniture restorers now retired to the Southern Highlands.
