Aberglasslyn House, John Verge

Interior shots of Aberglasslyn House near Maitland taken during the 1960's. I find the shot with the furniture interesting as we have chairs, table and desk identical to those in the shot, I'd love to say they were our's. Aberglasslyn was commisioned during 1836, though not completed until 1853. The style of furniture from the late Georgian through to early Victorian ( George IV - William IV ) period is our area of expertise and we have the finest examples in Australia. Furniture produced during this era is the style in which these classical Greek revival houses would have been accoutered, as people had furniture brought out from England as well as producing it from Cedar. If you are furnishing a 19th c home either in the city or in the country, we can match furniture to period architecture with accuracy. Our website shows a small selection of our highly important collection of 19th c museum quality furniture, we hold examples from mint to highly faded and patinated condition. Being serious antique dealers we only stock the best examples and are very particular about using the best furniture conservators in Sydney.
